Biography:
I am IGNASIUS WELERUBUN MSC, one of the delegates from the MSC Provinsi of Indonesia for the 26th MSC General Chapter. I was born in Uwat (a small village on the big Kei Island, Maluku, Indonesia) on February 1, 1967. I made my perpetual vows in the MSC Congregation on October 15, 1994 and was ordained a priest on June 16, 1996. After two years working as a parish priest in Amboina diocese, I was assigned to further study in Manila, Philippines for a master’s degree in Sociology. Since 2002 until now, I have been assigned to give lectures at the Pineleng Seminary School of Philosophy, Manado. Then, in 2013 I was assigned again to continue my studies at the doctoral degree program for Sociology at Gadjah Mada University, Indonesia and in 2017 I finished it. Now, I still teach as a lecturer in the field of Sociology at the Pineleng Seminary School of Philosophy, Manado, Indonesia.
