Biography:
I am Raúl Ruiz Mena, MSC I was born on December 6, 1970, in El Salvador. I entered the Congregation on January 2, 1992, in El Salvador. In 1993 I entered the philosophate in Guatemala. From 1994 to 1995 I made my novitiate in the Dominican Republic. On August 6, 1995, I took my first religious vows. In 1999 she took her perpetual vows. In 2021 I completed my theological studies in El Salvador. On 21 October 2001 I was ordained deacon and on 19 October 2002 I was ordained priest. On January 17, 2002, I was sent to Nicaragua.
I was parochial vicar from 2002 to 2004 in the parish of Nuestra Señora del Perpetuo Socorro in the diocese of Granada. In 2004 I was appointed parish priest of the same parish. In 2009 I was appointed episcopal vicar for family ministry in the diocese of Granada. I have collaborated on two occasions as provincial councillor and secretary. In 2011 I was appointed vicar general of the diocese of Granada, 2014 appointed parish priest of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart and collaborator in the philosophy formation house in Guatemala. In 2016 I was appointed parish priest of the parish of San José de Bocay in the diocese of Jinotega, Nicaragua. That same year I was appointed vicar of zone 4 of the diocese of Jinotega. In 2021 I was appointed Provincial of the Province of Central America and Mexico.
I am convinced that being a Missionary of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is an infinite grace that God has given me. I consider that I have responded in the best way from the charism and spirituality to the different services that I have given to the Church and the Congregation. I consider myself a witness of God’s love in the world, contemplating the face of Christ in the poorest. I am fluent in Spanish.
